Christmas 2010 Wish List.

Santa!

How goes it, big guy?  Christmas is just about here and I am certain you’re hitting up toy stores & electronic stores to BOOT!  Are you excited?!

Have you had to lay off any elves due to this whole #recession fiasco?  I’d assume so… which means you’re probably short staffed.  That’s unfortunate.

*awkward silence*

On the bright side, my wish list isn’t too long!

:D

See this?

This is my beloved iPod sitting next to me as I type this.  Got it for my 24th birthday, which, if you’ve been reading my blog [and you have been reading, right Santa?], you’d gather that was 5 years ago.   Old as it is, it’s done me well.  It’s only had a glitch once or twice where I  couldn’t turn the dang thing off & had to just let the battery run out.  Other than that, me and young 2005 iPod Mini have been hanging tough.

The thing is, my iPod holds approximately 1,000 songs.  Welp, I’ve had 943 songs on it since 2009 & the space is all used up.

Dunzo.

No hay nada mas.

And 2010 has produced some straight up JAMS, in both album and mixtape form, that CLEARLY need to become a member of my iPod society.  Kanyeezy.  Janelle Monae.  Erykah Badu.

I could go on.

And I’ve definitely added some of their songs, but I’ve had to delete others to make room.

Hardly seems fair, wouldn’t you say?

Why should old jams or semi-listened-to jams have to die so that NEW jams may live?  Why should ’92 Anita have to get reluctantly booted so that ’10 Cee-Lo can join the party?  WHY SANTA?!

*pours out liquor for deleted songs*

*cries*

*gathers self*

So, with that, I offer to you my Christmas wish for 2010:

See how pretty?  This bad boy can hold, like, ten million songs!* I may never need a new iPod again!**

I think I’ve been a pretty good girl this year.  My room is [fairly] clean, I paid [most of] my bills on time this month, and  I didn’t even trip that girl who cut me off on my way into the building this morning [even though I did, in my mind].

*adjusting halo*

So, Santa, with that, I hope you will consider my request.  I’ll leave out some [rice]milk and cookies for you, too.  Feel free to take some back to the unemployed elves & their families.  I know how it is.

xoxo,

Brownngirl.

* I may have exaggerated that number
